[ 9/2025 ] CPBJ Top Project Awarded to Illuminated Integration

Central Penn Business Journal has selected our project, “Illuminated Integration Office and Shop” to receive a 2025 Top Projects Award!

Top Projects is an awards program that honors the best building and construction projects in Central Pennsylvania over a 12-month span – from January 2024 to December 2024 – in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties. The awards are not only a look back at the excellent work that’s taken place in the previous year, but they also anticipate how these plans and projects potentially establish landmarks of the future.

Projects were judged on the following criteria: degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors, management and in some cases government, adaptive reuse and sustainability efforts. Winners of the 2025 Top Projects Awards were chosen by the editors of Central Penn Business Journal.

“The 2025 Top Projects are leaving a notable mark on the landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Their innovative projects feature quality design and construction in addition to creating jobs, building healthy spaces and helping businesses achieve their goals,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/Central Penn Business Journal. “Central Penn Business Journal is pleased to shine a spotlight on these businesses for their outstanding achievements over the past year.”

The Top Projects Awards will be presented at Central Penn Business Journal’s Real Estate & Development Summit on Oct. 21 at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel, 4650 Lindle Road in Harrisburg. The summit begins at 8:30 a.m. and features a breakfast buffet, exhibits, keynote address by Yeva Nersisyan, Ph.D., from Franklin & Marshall College, a panel discussion focusing on navigating the use of Artificial Intelligence in the Central Penn real estate and construction industries, and networking opportunities.

This event is more than just a tournament; it’s an opportunity to shine a light on the incredible work of our private Christian education partners, including Scholé Homeschool Center of Harrisburg and the Christian School Association of Greater Harrisburg (CSAGH) [Mark Seymour & Paul Beardmore]. Their commitment to nurturing the next generation is an inspiration to us all.

The day also held a deeper significance as we paused to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We will never forget their sacrifice and the enduring strength of our nation in the face of tragedy.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this event meaningful, impactful, and unforgettable. We look forward to continuing this tradition of giving back and growing together.

[ 8/2025 ] GROUNDBREAKING – Waypoint RV & Mini Storage

Excited to break ground this month on Waypoint RV & Mini Storage, a new 81,000 sq. ft. facility located along Carlisle Road in Dover, PA. The project includes complete land development and new construction of both climate-controlled and traditional storage buildings, supported by a customer-focused rental office.

The site presented challenges with scale and infrastructure, requiring careful sequencing of sitework, utilities, concrete, and building erection. Centurion’s streamlined approach allows multiple buildings to move forward concurrently, keeping the project on track for phased occupancy by Fall 2025. Once complete, the facility will provide secure, accessible, and modern storage solutions designed to meet the needs of both individuals and businesses in the region.

SCOPE OF WORK:
🔸Full site development and infrastructure installation (utilities, stormwater, paving)
🔸Eight new pre-engineered storage buildings (climate-controlled and unconditioned)
🔸Construction and fit-out of a new rental office
🔸Security fencing, access controls, and final inspections

[ 8/2025 ] GROUNDBREAKING – Mechanicsburg Volunteer Fire Department

The Mechanicsburg Volunteer Fire Department held a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, August 23rd at 10:00 AM to mark the start of construction on its new state-of-the-art facility. The event was attended by members of the community, local officials, and state dignitaries who gathered to celebrate this significant milestone in public safety for the region.

Centurion Construction was well represented at the ceremony, with key team members in attendance: Howard Peters Project Manager; Wes Loe, Superintendent; Aaron Leighow, Director of Business Development; and Nate Book, CEO.

The project includes the construction of a new 16,800± square-foot facility. The modern building will feature a dedicated apparatus bay and a two-story structure housing support and living spaces designed to meet the growing needs of the department and community.

The new facility will enhance emergency response capabilities and provide improved accommodation for the dedicated volunteer firefighters who serve Mechanicsburg and the surrounding areas.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to bring this vision to life and look forward to the positive impact it will have for years to come.

[ 8/2025 ] Welcome to the Team

Please join us in welcoming Francis Herring, Jr, to the team as our new Estimator/Project Manager! We’re excited to see the incredible impact he will have on our projects and clients.

Frank is a career-focused construction professional with over 27 years of experience. He began as a carpenter and later ran his own home improvement business before joining a general contractor to expand into the commercial sector. Advancing from foreman to superintendent, he gained expertise across retail, healthcare, industrial, and commercial projects. He then transitioned into estimating, working on projects that ranged from general renovations to a large natatorium featuring an outdoor pool and water park.
