Shalom House is a shelter for women and children located in Harrisburg. Besides providing emergency sheltering and necessities, Shalom House’s mission focuses on creating pathways for independence and stability through life coaching, skills training and other programs they offer.
Centurion Construction has partnered with Shalom house to re-purpose the former Unitarian Church of Harrisburg on Market street to create a community center that includes offices, space to house the programs they operate and early childhood education classrooms to address the needs of the local community.
Construction of the first-floor offices, reception area and four (4) Head Start classrooms are complete as of September 2019. This is the first phase of a larger campus plan in the Allison Hill community that will include a playground, transitional living and affordable apartment housing.
